President Trump Signs Executive Order Requiring Proof Of Citizenship To Vote

President Trump has unveiled a game changing new Executive Order to fortify America’s election systems. The sweeping action targets non-citizen voting and mandates paper ballots, potentially reshaping how elections are conducted across the nation. Elections are going back to the basics – and we’ll be safer for it!

At a glance:

• Trump signed an Executive Order requiring proof of citizenship for voter registration

• The order mandates voter-verifiable paper ballots to enhance election security

• It directs the Attorney General to sue states that count ballots arriving after Election Day

• The order revokes previous executive actions that critics say weakened election integrity

• Federal election funds will be contingent on states complying with election integrity laws

America First Election Security

President Donald Trump has taken decisive action to secure American elections by signing an Executive Order that mandates proof of citizenship for voter registration and requires paper ballots. The order aims to bring U.S. election standards in line with other developed nations and addresses longstanding concerns about election integrity. And Democrats, obviously, aren’t happy about it.

The sweeping directive focuses on enhancing the security of voting systems and enforcing compliance with federal laws that establish a uniform Election Day. Trump’s order specifically targets the issue of non-citizen voting by requiring documentary proof of U.S. citizenship for anyone registering to vote in federal elections.

The Executive Order reads: “Despite pioneering self-government, the United States now fails to enforce basic and necessary election protections employed by modern, developed nations, as well as those still developing. Free, fair, and honest elections unmarred by fraud, errors, or suspicion are fundamental to maintaining our constitutional Republic.”

Paper Ballots and Election Day Enforcement

A key component of the Executive Order requires the Election Assistance Commission to amend voting system guidelines to ensure voter-verifiable paper records. This change directly addresses concerns about electronic voting systems, particularly those using barcodes or QR codes that may not accurately reflect voter intent.

Trump’s Executive Order also tackles another critical issue by directing the Attorney General to sue states that count ballots arriving after Election Day. The order references a Fifth Circuit Court ruling that defined Election Day as “the day by which ballots must be both cast by voters and received by state officials.”

The order explains: “Election Day used to mean something — elections were supposed to be held on a uniform day nationwide. But during the 2020 election, several states changed their rules to permit late ballots (that in some cases lacked a postmark) to be counted as valid so long as they arrived within an allotted time frame.”

And when Democrats tell you this is crazy, that it will cost too much, or that it’s too hard to do, there’s one simple response: Europe does it!

For most Western European countries, elections are not only conducted via paper ballot, but they’re fully tabulated and counted the very same night. How was this ever controversial?
